Detroit Central 2018 QB El-Julian Jordan has decommitted from Western Michigan
Detroit Central 2018 QB El-Julian Jordan decommitted from Western Michigan University late on Sunday evening.
The Trailblazers quarterback has been committed to the Broncos for over 8 months, but had a late change of heart 3 days prior to signing day.
"After many hours of thought and prayer," said Jordan. "My family and I believe that is in my best interest to open my recruitment process and decommit from Western Michigan University."
"This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I want to ensure that I make the absolute best and most informed decision possible. I want to thank Coach Lester, Coach Johns, and the entire Western Michigan staff for believing in me and for the opportunity."
The decommit is a huge blow to the Broncos 3 days prior to signing day as WMU is thin on quarterback depth and their starting QB Jon Wassink had a season ending injury in 2017.
The Broncos recruiting class of 2018 now only has 5 in-state commits.
El-Julian Jordan at the time of his commitment held offers also from; Bowling Green State, Illinois State, Eastern Michigan, and Northwood.

8/23/2017: The Trailblazers have an incredible piece at QB with El Julian Jordan returning. The former King QB has been nothing short of impressive since making his mark last year. Jordan has a top recruit in Jerrod Vines next to him as well as one of the most impressive athletes in the state in DJ Adkins. Look for a record breaking year from Jordan.
College interest: Jordan earned 3 MAC offers before shutting down his recruiting process in the Spring by committing to Western Michigan. Jordan has never really been coached at the position so he is extremely raw.
