Antonio Gates officially wrapped up his 17 year NFL career today as he announced his retirement.

Gates played in 16 NFL seasons from 2003-2018 all at the Los Angeles/San Diego Chargers. Gates was an unsigned free agent that was not picked up during the 2019 season.

Gates career accomplishments could go on forever but some noticeable highlights include:

  • 8-time pro-bowl selection
  • Most TD passes between WR/QB in NFL history with 89 from Phillip Rivers
  • 3 time all pro, 1st team
  • 2 time all pro, 2nd team
  • 955 receptions
  • 11,841 receiving yards
  • 116 touchdowns
  • Gates 112 touchdowns broke Tony Gonzalez's record for most TD among TE's
