Waterford Mott controls 2nd half in 52-35 win over Milford (Recap)
Milford and Waterford Mott had a rough first half with 19 fouls and a lot of missed shots. The Mavericks of Milford held a 16-14 advantage after two quarters.
In the second half, Mott implemented their high pressure defense on Milford, forcing turnovers and Tariq Hardy was in the center of it. On the outside, a 3-pointer by David McCullum several minutes into the 3rd quarter forced Milford to call timeout and Mott didn't look back.
McCullum added several more 3-pointers and Mike Hardie (12-points) also had some 3-pointers and some mid-range shots to push Waterford Mott into an eventual comfortable lead late in the 3rd quarter and into the 4th. McCullum finished with 13 points.
Gunnar Gustafson a 6'7" Center for Milford had a nice performance with 8 blocked shots and added 12 points. Several days the game, Milford announced that the 8 blocks was a single-game school record.
Waterford Mott improves to 9-1 and will host Walled Lake Central next week while Milford falls to 5-3 as they prepare for what should be a great game with Walled Lake Western.
