Scott Alexander played four sports during his high school career at Dow: football, basketball, wrestling and baseball.

Alexander was an All-District performer in both baseball and football. He played an integral role on the 1976 varsity football team that compiled an undefeated season en route to a Class A state championship. Alexander was selected to the Michigan Class A All-State Football Team.

Upon graduating from Dow in 1977, Alexander played football at the University of Toledo and was a four-year letter winner, playing two years as a tailback and two as a fullback. He started all four years, then became a graduate assistant coach and helped coach defensive backs on the Toledo team that won the California Bowl.
