Orchard Lake St. Mary’s star will announce his college commitment on Saturday, November 9th.

The five-star national recruit and heavy favorite to win Mr. Basketball in Michigan this season, announced Thursday that he is down to three remaining schools.

Michigan, Georgetown and USC are still in the running for McKenney, somewhat surprisingly eliminating Michigan State even though McKenney has been a Tom Izzo priority ever since his freshman season.

USC has now joined Michigan in the Big Ten, giving the conference two chances to have McKenney’s services next season.

Georgetown has been on McKenney’s list from the start. The Hoyas are one of the most iconic schools in the nation, and they are located near the nation’s capital.

McKenney led OLSM to a state semifinal appearance as a sophomore two seasons ago. He then backed it up with a Division 1 state title last season.

Known as one of the most versatile guards in the country, McKenney uses his strong frame to overpower defenders. He’s also a great mid-range and 3-point shooter.

McKenney has already taken official visits to all three of his finalists. He visited USC on September 1, Georgetown September 13, and Michigan September 20.

A decision could be looming.
