West Bloomfield Head Coach, Ron Bellamy comments on "big win" over Clarkston
West Bloomfield entered the pre-season as the #3 team in the state and would start the year off 0-2 with 2 tough losses to top 20 teams. After 4 weeks the Lakers are 2-2 which considering their Division (OAA Red) and schedule is not season ending / worrisome to those in Laker Nation.
In what was supposed to be a battle for #9 Clarkston and #19 West Bloomfield, it turned out to be anything but a battle as the Lakers won comfortably 37-15.
West Bloomfield Head Coach Ron Bellamy commented on the home win, "Our win over Clarkston was a big win for our football program and our community. Clarkston has a top notch football program and we knew we had to play a great game against them."
The Lakers who have the deepest Receivers unit in the state, put that statement into action as a top 150 recruit in the state, 2019 WR Tre Mosley hauled in 3 impressive touchdowns. Mosley's lone offer is from Central Michigan and visited Toledo the following day.
West Bloomfield 2018 OL/DL Blake Barnes had a great game up front for the Lakers as you would expect the Lakers dominated the line of scrimmage.
Ron Bellamy commented on on his defense which was phenomenal, "Our entire defense came to play Friday night. Nick Seidel was the leader and had a very impactful game." West Bloomfield 2018 S Nick Seidel finished the game with 2 interceptions for the Lakers.
Clarkston 2018 LB Zach Scott had a huge game for the Wolves defensively as he had several great reads and plays throughout the game that prevented West Bloomfield from having more offensive success.
