Waterford Mott pulls off 47-37 upset over #3 Walled Lake Western
Waterford Mott has never been shy of giving the Walled Lake Western Warriors their best shot and Friday night was no different.
Walled Lake Western entered the week as the #3 team in the state while Waterford Mott checked in at #41 due to an upset loss to White Lake Lakeland but at #41 is no laughing matter in their position and the Corsairs showed why.
Waterford Mott scorched the Warriors defense for 582 yards of total offense.
Waterford Mott 2018 QB David McCullum was his regular self with 21/30 for 320 yards and 3 touchdowns. McCullum also added 10 carries for 76 yards and 1 touchdown.
Perhaps the biggest breakout was 2019 RB Marcus Guerrero as the 5'7" 180 pounder had an impressive 29 carries for 173 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Fahr added, "Marcus had a wonderful game, not only carrying the workload on the ground, but he was also amazing in pass pro. I couldn't be more proud of him."
Waterford Mott head coach, Chris Fahr had a quick comment following the game, "Our kids played amazing and David McCullum was lights out. Total program win, everyone played hearts out."
