Vehicle City Gridiron Classic recap (Story)
The Vehicle City Gridiron Classic featured 3 Flint area games at the historic Atwood Stadium in Flint.
The D Zone will breakdown key players more, so stay tuned for that and video.
Beecher beat Flint 24-0
The 3 hour game, delayed the other 2 games and it wasn't a pretty game with 20+ flags. There were highlights though, as the #12 ranked 2020 prospect Earnest Sanders was very tough to stop with a nice fade for a TD, sweep for a TD, and a post route that appeared to be good for a TD but the next play, Beecher punched it in from a yard out.
Hamady beat Byron Area 50-28
Hamady wore down Byron with their speed and depth. Hamady had an answer for everything Byron did and appears to be a team capable of having a great season. Hamady scored 7 touchdowns in the game, Tre Davis had 3 TD's plus an interception. 2019 RB Deshawn Gibson also added 2 rushing TD's for Hamady.
Ortonville-Brandon beat Fenton 26-21
The nightcap was a solid game with some big players, Fenton jumped out to a 14-0 lead behind Spencer Rivera's 2 touchdown runs. Brandon QB Matt Harrison and WR/TE Justin Bowman hooked up for 2 impressive pass & catches, 1 being a touchdown. A key forced fumble by Brandon at the goal line prevented a Fenton touchdown. 2019 Slotback Mike Nicaj was sensational with 3 total touchdowns as he scored their first TD and final two TD's.
