Unity Christian stays perfect after cross-state battle (Full Story)
Two teams entered undefeated, but only one would exit that way.
Hudsonville Unity Christian (9-0) defeated Pontiac Notre Dame Prep (7-1) 48-23 Friday for their first undefeated regular season since 2021.
The Crusaders outscored their opponents by more than 250 points this season, almost reaching 400 points scored for the season.
Unity Christian wrapped up the OK-Black earlier this season with impressive wins over Zeeland West and South Christian. This time, they showed they could also beat a top east-side squad.
After missing the playoffs last season for the first time since 2013, the Crusaders quickly bounced back with a dominant season.
The Crusaders will now focus their attention on a long playoff run like in 2021 when they lost the state championship to Chelsea.
