Top 15 Overlooked Michigan High School Seniors in the Class of 2018

The state of Michigan is loaded with elite and high-end recruits that well exceed 100 players. Unfortunately, when a college focuses too much energy and thought into measurables and athletic testing results, they can miss intangibles on certain players. Michigan high schools constantly churn out successful NFL players who in some cases went undrafted.

We'll review a handful of players who missed our Top 151 Player Rankings below. A player cannot be ranked and overlooked at the same time.

1. Fitzgerald 2018 DE Gio Kizer
- No senior should see a bigger spike in his recruitment with minimal current college interest than the Spartans 6'6 235 lbs DE prospect. Kizer is very gifted with athleticism and fights through opposing lineman.

College interest: D2's were hoping to steal him after the season, we just don't see that happening.

2. Cass Tech 2018 DT Eric Smith
- After nearly 100 tackles as a junior, not enough colleges are paying attention to the Technicians DT. At 6'1" 275 lbs colleges are being picky about a few inches which is dumb as there's not a more productive DT anywhere in the Midwest.

3. Stoney Creek 2018 DE/OLB Athletic Jones (No photo)
- At 6'5" 240 lbs and for having the talent that Jones has it's very surprising that his name has not been mentioned more. A school will be getting a steal with Jones as he's well put together with his athleticism and abilities, he's definitely one of the most fundamental sound players.

College interest: There appears to be a lot of interest, but schools are waiting to see senior film.

4. Romeo 2018 WR/CB Nate Goralski
- Everyone in Macomb County knows about Goralski, but the rest of the state not so much. Goralski at 5'8" 165 lbs is the real deal for making plays for Romeo. Goralski can perform everything that's asked of him in Romeo's wing offense and run around or through an opponent.

College interest: Not much to anything now, the interest will rise during and following his senior season.

5. Lansing Sexton 2018 WR/CB Cody Blankenburg
- The 5'8 160 lbs Lansing product is another who is known for terrorizing CAAC opponents with his blazing speed and elusive abilities. As a defensive back, his speed translates well into the position and can be just as effective.

College interest: Holds 2 D2 offers already.

6. Canton LB 2018 Lou Baechler (No photo)
- There may not be a harder hitting LB in the state than the 5'9" 210 lbs Chiefs MLB. Baechler doesn't let his height hold him back as he still moves well on his feet and attacks the ball like there's no tomorrow.

College interest: Holds an NAIA offer from Concordia, Ann Arbor.

7. Lansing Catholic 2018 QB Mike Lynn III
- The school small QB is the real deal for a school looking for a gritty 6' 185 lbs dual-threat QB who isn't afraid to fight for the extra yards. In a spread offense, he's lethal reading his keys and taking off on his feet if need be.

College interest: Holds a D2 offer and 2 NAIA offers.

8. Detroit Central 2018 Slot DJ Adkins
- His coaches call him the "human joystick" and it's easy to see why. The 5'3" 135 lbs prospect is absolutely lethal with the ball in his hands as he has great speed, elusive abilities, and the ability to turn nothing into something good.

College interest: Holds an NAIA offer from Siena Heights.

9. Avondale 2018 WR Nick Whiteside
- Whiteside plays so much bigger than his 6' 170 lbs measurables would implicate. Whiteside is very fundamentally sound and is very strong fighting through opposing DB's. Whiteside might not put up filthy numbers as a senior but colleges should love his senior film.

College interest: Whiteside holds 2 early NAIA offers.

10: Saint Mary's 2018 QB Caden Prieskorn
- After leading St. Mary's in the Division 3 title game, throwing a few touchdowns - including the game winner. Prieskorn's talent this off-season went unnoticed for the most part and that's pretty unfortunate as he's an athletic kid who can still be a reliable pocket passer.

College interest: Prieskorn's lone offer is Holy Cross who is an FCS program.

11. Southfield A&T 2018 LB Christian Rush
- We call him, CRush because he is crushing everything in front of him. The former receiver converted LB is a physically imposing player at 5'11" 206 lbs and has drawn plenty of attention from coaches. Rush can be used as an MLB or OLB.

College interest: Rush received 3 early NAIA offers from all of the in-state NAIA programs.

12. Goodrich 2018 LB Drake Toms
- Goodrich had an uncharacteristically bad year in 2016 with a 0-9 record so that always forces a team and its players to be overlooked. The 6'1 190 lbs RB/LB returns as the teams leading tackler and is also a physically imposing RB. If Toms and his teammates reverse their on-field success look to see this physical and reliable name mentioned more.

College interest: Toms holds an early NAIA offer from Lawrence Tech.

13. Waterford Mott 2018 LB/S Colton Baranowski
- Waterford Mott is ranked in the top 20 for the first in school history and coming off of their first playoff win. This year Mott has a strong defense that will be led by versatile stud in 5'11 195 lbs Colton Baranowski. Colton Baranowski is a 3-year starter and always is making plays / being around the ball.

College interest: Minimal interest for now, missed part of sophomore season with injury so we hope to see interest rise as a senior.

14. River Rouge 2018 DT Ja'veon Coleman
- The 6'3" 285 lbs DT will be making life extremely tough opponents in 2016. Coleman can clog up the line of scrimmage and shut down running lanes, forcing opponents to the outside where Rouge has great team speed.

College interest: Coleman holds a D2 offer, 2 NAIA offers, and high D3 interest.

15. Bay City Central 2018 RB/SS Dequez Weathers
- The 5'10 185 lbs Athlete is looking to bring the Wolves back to their past of winning ways. For what Weathers lacks in height to colleges he makes up for it with a punishing and fast style of play that leaves opponents wanting to never see him again.

College interest: Weathers has some interest, but nothing like it should be.
