http://thedzone.com/players/reggie-pearsonThe D Zone will be releasing our Top 151 football players in Michigan from the Classes of 2018 to 2020 over the next several days.

The list is based off of our evaluations throughout the off-season and various recruiting events like Mega camps (bigger college camps, Camp Pride, etc. where the top recruits attend and perform vs. equal or better competition played a major role in a lot of our decisions).

Stay tuned also for a major announcement and more rankings to be unveiled exclusively on The D Zone and our social media platforms prior to and during the season.

- List of complete #1-151 Player Rankings and more

20. Gibraltar Carlson 2018 TE "ATH" Jaylan Franklin - Wisconsin

- The 6'4" 200 lbs TE is a nightmare for opposing defenses who need to account for the size and speed of Franklin. Franklin also has stood out as a Safety and WR during his career.

College interest: Franklin held 20 offers before Wisconsin entered the picture. Franklin would be offered by Wisconsin on a Spring visit and he returned in June to commit.

19. Milan 2018 OT Mike Furtney - Wisconsin

- No lineman in the state has the aggression and motor that Furtney has. The film and stats do not lie. As a sophomore Furtney had ridiculous stats but wasn't even mentioned anywhere outside of Downriver conversations. As a junior, Furtney bulldozed opposing defensive lineman and became even bigger to become recruited.

College interest: Furtney received his first offer in September 2016 and by March 2017 he received 26 offers before committing to the 13th school who offered him, Wisconsin.

18. Cass Tech 2019 ATH Jalen Graham

- After being a major factor on Country Day last year, leading them to the Division 4 title game, Graham will begin a fresh journey at Cass Tech. Graham is a phenomenal athlete and will give everyone above him on this list a few reasons why he should be ranked higher, but we're expecting a huge surge in the rankings once he pads up with Cass Tech and shows what he does vs. their schedule. Graham can play; QB, WR, and Safety. An instinctive and bone-crushing Safety is a must have for elite college programs.

College interest: Graham was completely unknown until following the end his incredible sophomore season by mostly everyone. He has received a handful of offers, but watch the film and let's be real - he is just getting started.

17. Farmington Hills Harrison 2019 CB Roderick Heard

- An unfortunate injury in track disabled him from performing in front of colleges this summer, so now that, that's in the past look for the Hawks CB to be in the discussion as one of the best cornerbacks in the state in 2019. Heard is a physical, lock-down type corner, who covers extremely well and suffocates receivers. Heard has elite ball skills and tracks the ball great. He can cover the 6'3+ receivers well.

College interest: As stated above there's a huge gap in his process this summer. Heard holds 5 offers. In these next 2 years, he'll be receiving more heavy interest.

16. Detroit King 2019 S Marvin Grant

- There are a lot of good Safety's in Michigan and Grant is the real deal in everyone's eyes. The 6'1 190 lbs DB prospect was a major contributor for the Division 2 champs in 2016 as he reads and reacts perfectly to the play. Grant has good length to aid his skills, but when it comes to tracking and attacking there might not be a better Safety in the country than Grant.

College interest: Grant picked up 15 offers since last June when he received his first offer at Toledo's camp. Look for continued college interest this upcoming season.

15. East Kentwood 2019 DT Mazi Smith (No photo)

- East Kentwood has always pumped talented players through their doors, but this 2019 class is something else. Smith is a ferocious and relentless defensive tackle prospect who is so quick off the line of scrimmage. We hope that no referee's this year don't blow any encroachment penalties because of that. Smith is extremely aggressive and lethal when in pass rush situations.

College interest: Smith is up to 16 offers including offers from; Alabama, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, etc.

14. Grand Rapids Catholic Central 2018 OT Jalen Mayfield - Michigan (No photo)

- Mayfield caught our eyes 3 years ago as an exciting TE/DE prospect. Obviously, in 1-2 years a kid will begin to grow and develop his skills. Mayfield developed into a dangerous Offensive Tackle prospect while still playing basketball, so he hasn't been able to fully maximize his weight and strength for the position and that's just scary to think about for their opponents this upcoming year.

College interest: Mayfield currently holds 16 offers. He committed to Minnesota but flipped soon after Michigan offered. Mayfield committed to Michigan in May.

13. River Rouge 2018 S Reggie Pearson - Wisconsin

- With so many ball-hawk Safeties in the state, Pearson is your throwback run-support Safety but also can excel in coverages. Pearson works like he has the most to prove in the state when he doesn't and that's a testament to his strong work ethic. Pearson is bulked up and skilled all around to be plugged in most college defenses now. Of course, that can't happen for another year but look for a great senior season from Pearson who was the Defensive MVP of Camp Pride back in January.

College interest: Schools didn't quite believe in how good Pearson was from his 5'11 height and he committed to Wisconsin who did believe in him in August 2016 following their week 1 game.

12. Divine Child 2018 QB Theo Day - Michigan State

- The Spartans sealed the deal with what will be one of their best prospects, period. Day is a prototype pocket quarterback but has deceptive athleticism which allows him to escape sticky situations and have tremendous success. Day at 6'5" has the height factor, plus a rifle arm and good decision-making abilities. Day has a ton of pieces already in place with his skill set and a team around him to have a memorable senior season.

College interest: Kentucky offered first and Day climbed up to 10 offers when he committed to Michigan State. Georgia became the 11th to offer him following his commitment.

11. Cass Tech 2018 LB/DB DeAndre Square - Kentucky

- Players like DeAndre Square do not come often and Coach Wilcher back in 2015 hinted at that to us one summer day at the Sound Mind Sound Body. Square is extremely; effective, reliable, versatile, strong, intelligent, fast, balanced, hard-hitting, reactive, and is good in coverage. There's not much more to say about Square than he fits the package of what you want in a Linebacker who can cover anyone and exceed the physical demands of being a linebacker. You can put him at Safety and he'll still dominate equally as good.

College interest: Square received 18 offers from all over the place. In Mid-June he committed to Kentucky which was his 3rd offer.
