(#101-110) The D Zone's Michigan High School Football Pre-Season Player Rankings
The D Zone will be releasing our Top 151 football players in Michigan from the Classes of 2018 to 2020 over the next several days.
The list is based off of our evaluations throughout the off-season and various recruiting events like Mega camps (bigger college camps, Camp Pride, etc. where the top recruits attend and perform vs. equal or better competition played a major role in a lot of our decisions).
Stay tuned also for a major announcement and more rankings to be unveiled exclusively on The D Zone and our social media platforms prior to and during the season.
- List of complete #1-151 Player Rankings and more
110. Detroit King 2019 DT Jalen Bell
- After a sophomore season breakout, Bell is looking to ring some more attention from colleges. Bell is naturally overlooked because of his 5'11 height which to us is a grave mistake.
College interest: Bell is still young and has 2 seasons ahead, so he could grow and be so impressive that a school offers regardless.
109. Lake Orion 2018 LB Sam Kinne
- It didn't take us long to spot Kinne last year when he was at Lapeer. The LB/TE is built like a tank and little stands in his way from attacking the ball or being a mismatch vs. opposing LB's when he lines up at TE.
College interest: Kinne has 2 D1-FBS offers and an D2 offer. Kinne was out and about a lot this summer so a lot of schools are waiting to see his senior film.
108. Delton Kellogg 2018 DE Tyden Ferris - Central Michigan (no photo)
- In a class loaded with DE's Ferris locked in his commitment early to Central Michigan. The Kalamazoo area prospect's father played at CMU so we look forward to him continuing his legacy at CMU.
College interest: Ferris' only offer was from CMU and he committed on the spot.
109. Clarkston 2018 RB/DB Mike Fluegel
- Clarkston has been stocked with elite athletes through the years and Fluegel is next in line. Fluegel broke out as a sophomore in which he had to fill-in for an injured Nolan Eriksen at RB. Fluegel has developed into one of the best CB's in Oakland County the past 2 years and does a little bit of everything right.
College interest: Air Force is the only school to offer Fluegel. An impressive senior season should open more doors as we feel Fluegel brings a lot defensively to any team.
106. West Bloomfield 2018 ATH Collin Heard - Howard
- Heard comes to West Bloomfield after hepling Groves reach the D2 semi's in 2016 Heard can standout anywhere he goes and was one of the least known standouts at the time of Camp Pride in January 2017. Heard can line up as a Slot, CB, etc.
College interest: Heard received a few FCS offers and Navy, but a near week trip to Washington DC was enough to seal his commitment to Howard.
105. East English Village 2019 DB Elija Griffin
- The Bulldogs continue to produce DB's at an eye grabbing rate. Griffin is a lengthy and aggressive Safety and plays basketball so he knows how to track the ball at its highest point extremely well.
College interest: Griffin along with a few teammates received an offer from Syracuse during the Spring. Look for more interest starting this Fall.
104. Eisenhower 2018 QB Max Wittwer
- Max Wittwer returns for his 3rd season under center for the Eagles. Wittwer is a dual-threat QB who is a very accurate passer and reads the field extremely well. Wittwer is also a multi-sport athlete and tremendous leader.
College interest: Wittwer held an Eastern Michigan offer and Eastern Kentucky offer as well. The Eagles QB will certainly have the chance to open eyes with his week 1 opponent, Oak Park who has a handful of D1 defensive backs.
103. Detroit King 2019 LB/DE/TE Tyrece Woods
- Woods returns from a forgettable sophomore season in which he was injured for most of the season following a solid freshman campaign. Woods has gotten huge from an off-season of hitting the weight room. Woods could contribute anywhere as a; LB, DE, or TE.
College interest: Woods holds 2 early MAC offers plus a Temple offer. Woods will have the chance reinvigorate his recruiting process as a junior.
102. East English Village 2018 RB Creed Stegall-Monroe - Kent State
- The Bulldogs could probably be using him at at Linebacker if they need too, but Stegall-Monroe is a stud RB who blends his size, speed, and power. Stegall-Monroe was previously at Southeastern.
Collegiate interest: All it took was a visit to Kent State for Stegall-Monroe to fall in love with the school and 2 months later after camp season ended, he committed to KSU.
101. Saginaw 2018 OLB/DE NeVen Simington - Central Michigan
- Saginaw High hasn't had a Division 1 athlete in 6 years, but that will change with Simington. Simmington is an explosive DE/OLB combo who can do well at both.
Collegiate interest: Simington is a legacy recruit at Central Michigan and he has family who lives in Mount Pleasant, so it wasn't a difficult decision once the Chippewas offered.
