The #10 ranked, Clarkston Wolves will be appearing in their 4th state championship game in the past 6 years and the good news for Clarkston fans is that they are 3-0 in their final appearances. Clarkston enters this game with a 11-2 record with their lone losses coming to, Oak Park and Oxford.

Clarkston's playoff path features wins over; #9 Saline, #20 Lapeer, #34 White Lake Lakeland, and #65 Lake Orion.

The #3 ranked, Chippewa Valley Big Reds will be making their 1st state finals appearance since winning the Division 2 State Championship in 2001. The Big Reds enter this game with a very impressive 13-0 record in the MAC Red and through a difficult Division 1 schedule that wound up being mostly all lopsided scores.

Chippewa Valley's playoff path features wins over; #4 Belleville, #6 Fordson, #12 Dakota, and #21 Eisenhower.

Following the regular season, Chippewa Valley was the #3 ranked team in the state and #2 in Division 1 while Clarkston was the #10 ranked team in the state and #7 in Division 1.

Prediction: Chippewa Valley by 3

Explanation: The Big Reds have cruised vs. elite competition throughout the playoffs. This should be an exciting game as both are evenly matched and are very similar. Both teams are two of the best coached teams in the state. The Big Reds have very experienced skill players who should be the difference in a close game.
