Traverse City Saint Francis and Kingsley each entered the game with 3-0 records, but the Gladiators of St. Francis left no doubt who the better team was. George Mackey scored 3 rushing touchdowns in the 1st half and 2 minutes into the 3rd quarter, St. Francis made the running clock go into effect.

We'll break down their performances below:

Saint Francis:

2019 OLB/TE Tom Hegewald is a 6'2 205 lbs prospect who flew around defensively for the Gladiators and with an aggressive demeanor was a player who was in on everything. Hegewald is certainly a player who has a high ceiling as a FCS/D2 recruit.

2019 DB/RB George Mackey came up big for the Glads with 3 nice rushing touchdowns to build their lead. Mackey scored from 40, 23, and 11 yards out. Defensively he didn't need to do too much as the DL and LB's kept Kingsley's offense in check. Mackey holds 4 D3 roster spots now, but there should be several D2 and NAIA programs who continue to evaluate him.

2019 DE/TE Henry Carroll had a big game with a 57-yard touchdown reception on top of countless good blocks on offense. Defensively he had 4 tackles and 1 sack.

2019 CB/RB Artie Dutmers is a solid cover corner with several Division III roster spots opportunities. Dutmers had a solid performance on Saturday that was highlighted by a nice interception where he jumped a route.

2019 DT/OG Spencer Hathaway is a 6' 270 lbs interior mauler with good fundamentals and base. Showed throughout the game to be a force when he was in the game.

2019 RB/S Evan McGee is a 5'11 180 lbs versatile playmaker who had a strong game running the ball with 80 yards and 2 touchdowns. McGee had a solid all-around game.

2019 OC/DT Tommy Gallagher is a 6'1 225 lbs center who played well, blocked well off the snap and helped anchor the OL which controlled the line of scrimmage all game.

2019 QB/S Danny Passinault had a team-high 8 tackles as the DB was in on every play defensively. At QB Passinault utilized his athleticism to gain 77 yards and had over 100 punt return yards.

2019 DT Mitch Westman is a 6' 200 lbs interior NG prospect who got off the ball well and had some nice pursuit but was effective in playing his role, in stopping the Stags wing-t offense.

Kingsley:

2020 RB/S Ayden Mullin is a nice physical specimen at 5'11 170 lbs who has good speed, balance, and showed tremendous effort throughout the game. Defensively he was in on a lot of plays and didn't hold anything back with several huge clean tackles near the sideline. Mullin is certainly a name to know about.

2019 DE Ian Sousa is a 6'4 235 lbs prospect and has very good pass rushing abilities and showed flashes of how good he is. He definitely has his frame filled up well and had problems breaking double teams, but Sousa is a player all D2's and NAIA's need to be aware of.

2020 QB/ATH Tyler Inthisone is the Stags top athlete at 6'2 180 lbs and runs the wing-t offense as the QB. Inthisone was bottled up and held in check, but still displayed tremendous versatility and athleticism.
