The Dakota Cougars suffocated Orchard Lake Saint Mary's on their home turf, a score of 28-24 doesn't tell at all how well Dakota played and did what they wanted all game long. Dakota had 2 muffed punts that Josh McCarty recovered and a fake punt attempt that failed at their own 21 yard line. OLSM took advantage each time, on two possessions they scored on the very next play. Fortunately for Dakota they bent but did not break, as Mark Tocco delivered his 4th TD pass of the game with 2:10 left that would be the game-wining touchdown. Dakota allowed OLSM to cross midfield on their final possession but forced OLSM to turn the ball over on downs.

Dakota:

2019 WR Brandon Michalak holds an offer from Michigan Tech and it's clear more D2's will be coming on strong soon. The 6'2 170 lbs prospect has good speed and beat the Orchard Lake Saint Mary's defense numerous times. On one of Michalak's touchdowns he caught a bullet off a slant, broke free from a tackle and got down the sideline for a 17-yard touchdown. Michalak finished with 5 catches for 171 yards and 2 touchdowns.

2019 WR Dustin Solomon had a few plays in the game he'd like to forget, but the 5'10 175 lbs RB/Slot/DB was sensational throughout the game with 4 catches for 177 yards. Solomon received a roster spot from Alma College this past week and put many people on alert with his 2 touchdown performance on Friday night. Solomon is a quick and speedy playmaker with good physical attributes. Solomon caught the game-winning touchdown reception.

2019 QB Mark Tocco threw 4 touchdowns on 10/20 for 348 yards and each of the 4 TD's were great throws. Tocco had several dazzling throws during the night that were complete or good DB coverage on the WR. Tocco had some big punts as well during the game.

2019 LB Jeremiah Major who is 6'1 245 lbs made life miserable for OLSM on Friday night as he read and reacted well to the ball. Major was a sure-tackler and cleaned up several St. Mary's backs. Major runs a 4.67 40-yard dash.

Nobody on defense was in on more plays than Dakota 2019 DT/OL Riley Orlando. Orlando on numerous occasions shutdown St. Mary's lethal running attacks with tackles-for-loss and was a sure-tackler.

2020 OT Connor Wolfgang is the Cougars LT and from what we seen, had very good pass protection all day. Mostly everything Dakota did offensively on Friday was positive yards. OLSM blitzed a ton and Dakota picked up well on the blitzing for the most part.

2020 DE Danny Chaudhry played a vital role for Dakota on Friday night, as the 6'3 225 lbs DE prospect was responsible for containing the dual-threat QB Anthony Enechukwu and did from our look a great job as Enechukwu, was unable to escape Dakota's grasp all night.

Orchard Lake Saint Mary's:

2020 WR/CB Kameron Arnold was for the most part the most consistent and dialed-in Eaglets player all game. The 6' 165 lbs ATH had some good defensive plays in coverage and made some tough catches for the Eaglets on offense. Arnold also read and closed in strong on a fake punt attempt to prevent Dakota from getting the first down late in the game.

2019 RB Josh McCarty showed his power and speed on several occasions during the game, including a 21 yard touchdown run in the final 2:30 of the game. McCarty also recovered 2 muffed punts for the Eaglets.

2019 RB/LB Clarence Glasker holds several early offers FCS and DII programs. The 6'1 196 lbs ATH was making plays all game long on both sides of the ball, including a few big hits and a 41-yard touchdown run following a Dakota turnover.
