Throughout the week, we will provide previews for some of the top matchups throughout each round of the playoffs.

Division 5 Matchup:

Clare (7-2)

If their regular-season matchup was any indication, this should be a spirited, competitive game that could highlight the pre-district round across the state. Clare lost to Ogemaw 41-34 in Week 5, unable to keep up in an epic shootout. The Pioneers have built one of the most successful football programs in the state, reaching the playoffs every season since 2005. After scoring over 350 points, they should be ready for another high-scoring game.

Ogemaw Heights (8-1)

Competing in their third straight postseason, Ogemaw was just three points away from a perfect regular season. The Falcons cruised through most of the regular season, except for a 27-25 loss against Standish Sterling. Ogemaw scored at least 40 points in five games this fall, proving they can keep up in a track meet. They also won two games scoring 12 points or less. Their mix of great offense and punishing defense make them a threat for a long postseason run.
