Michigan HS Football District Preview: St. Joe vs. Zeeland West
Throughout the week, we will provide previews for some of the top matchups throughout each round of the playoffs.
Division 3
St. Joe (9-1)
The Bears have made the playoffs every year since, and outside an upset loss against Mattawan, dominated southwest Michigan teams this fall. St. Joe can throw the ball, which was a relatively new dynamic for teams in the area. They have a great QB and multiple deep threats at WR. This team can score points in bunches, backed by the 364 points they scored. Only twice has St. Joe finished a game with under 30 points this season.
Zeeland West (9-1)
The Dux have enjoyed a fantastic season, beating numerous top schools. The Dux earned victories over Muskegon and South Christian, including two against cross-street rivals Zeeland East. Zeeland West has made the playoffs every year since 2009 and reached the state semifinal last season. The Dux and Bears were fairly even offensively, so this could be an entertaining shootout.
