Throughout the week, we will provide previews for some of the top matchups throughout each round of the playoffs.

Division 4

Freeland (9-1)

The Falcons have likely had this game circled since a one-point loss to Goodrich in last season’s district matchup. Freeland has been lighting up scoreboards all season, keeping the operators busy by scoring 456 total points. The Falcons scored 50-plus points five times this fall, proving they can execute explosive plays.Freeland has also only allowed 89 points - making most games a blowout. Tristan Comer (6-6) is a two-sport star who has generated plenty of college recruiting buzz in football and basketball.

Goodrich (9-1)

The Martians were shutout 22-0 Week 1 against Frankenmuth, but have not lost since. Goodrich scored 438 points, which sets up a potential shootout. The Martians have been consistent, scoring at least 40 points in every game since Week 1. This is Goodrich’s eighth straight playoff appearance. They have reached the state semifinals in two straight seasons.
