Hudsonville dispensed of Rochester Adams 27-7 Saturday at Okemos in the football D1 state semifinal.

The Eagles proved their dominance early with a 13-play, 80-yard drive in the first quarter, capped by a one-yard score by QB Griffin Baker.

Rochester Adams fought back in the second and third quarters, trying to stop Hudsonville’s vaunted offense. But the Eagles had the ball late in the fourth quarter with a 21-7 lead.

The Eagles capped the drive with their fourth touchdown of the game, and although the extra point was blocked, Hudsonville sealed the three-score victory.

Next week’s matchup at Ford Field in Detroit will mark Hudsonville’s first state title appearance since 2005 when they lost to Brother Rice.
