Howell remains undefeated with win over Novi (Story)

The Howell Highlanders inched one step closer to a KLAA-W conference title Friday with a 35-21 road victory over Novi.

The Highlanders improved to 7-0 on the season, with a 6-0 conference record.

This is Howell’s best start since 1963 and senior linebacker Jesse Klasko shared his thoughts on the achievement.

“It’s a great feeling (to start 7-0),” Klasko said via the team’s X account. “I was actually talking with my family, and my grandpa was 13 the last time this school has done this, so it’s a great accomplishment to be a part of.”

Howell led 14-0 at halftime, but the game picked up after the break. Both teams fought to keep their conference-title hopes alive, but the Highlanders sealed the win with a late interception.

Next week’s game against Brighton could decide between an outright or co-conference champion scenario.
