GR Northview shocks GRCC to earn share of conference title (Story)

Grand Rapids Northview hasn’t just turned it around on the basketball court in recent years.

The Wildcats proved Friday with a 12-3 win over conference rivals Grand Rapids Catholic Central, that they also mean business on the football field.

GR Northview’s stifling defense helped move the team to 7-0 for the first time since 1977, while defeating the Cougars for the first time since 2016. Northview scored 12 unanswered points after GRCC started the scoring with their lone field goal.

The win helped the Wildcats clinch at least a share of the OK-Black conference with a date against Holland Christian next week.
