South Lyon led Country Day, the defending D4 State Champs at halftime by the score of 3-0. In the 2nd half, both teams exchanged touchdowns before Quinn Fracassi returned a kickoff 94 yards to extend South Lyon's lead and they dominated the rest of the way.

We'll break down top performances below:

South Lyon:

2022 WR/CB Quinn Fracassi - The senior playmaker was pretty much involved in everything on Friday night. He scored their on game-winning touchdown catch late in the 3rd quarter on a slant, returned a kickoff 94 yards for a TD, and scored on the ground late in the game. He also had an INT that was negated by a penalty and made great plays on defense and constantly was getting open on offense.

2022 CB Dakota Blackwell - The senior CB/RB was a major reason why SL came out on top. He had 2 very good interceptions on underthrown balls and was pretty much lockdown through the game. He had 3-4 carries late in the game to ice the clock.

2022 QB Dawson Skupin - The 6'4 180 lbs QB was in control of the game and only had one regrettable play towards the end of the 1st half. Skupin made some great passes and decisions during the 2nd half including a nice touchdown run.

2022 MLB Nathan Grooters - A very active player who should draw some college interest this year. He had around a half-dozen assisted tackles and had some nice open-field tackles.

2023 RB/S Tommy Donovan - Was a huge contributor on Friday with several nice runs and defensively he was in on a lot of tackles throughout the game. He had 2 tackles-for-loss on their 1st defensive possession which helped set the tone for the game.

2023 K Alexander Stoyanovich - Had a touchback and some other well-placed kickoffs. South Lyon nearly chased down 2 loose balls on kickoffs off the foot of Stoyanovich. Kicked a 32 yard FG which was their only points scored in the 1st half.

2022 WR/OLB Zach Ford - Had some very good plays including a few receptions to pick up good yardage. He blocked well outside at receiver and defensively made some tackles, including a nice open-field tackle on kickoff coverage.

2023 S Owen Mitchell - Came down and had close to double-digit tackles. A nice and instinctive safety prospect.

2022 OLB Collin Goins - Was active all day getting to the ball on the sidelines and then had an important sack late in the 2nd quarter with Brandon Mann escaping the pocket.

2023 QB/DB Braden Fracassi - Had 2 very good tackles on special teams.

2022 DE/OLB Ethan Price - Was a force all night on the edge with an early sack to pin DCDS deep in their own territory, a QB pressure that forced an errant throw, and several more tackles around the line of scrimmage.

2023 MLB Simeon Mardossian - Had a big game with many tackles around the line of scrimmage and chasing down ball carriers.

Country Day:

2022 QB/S Brandon Mann - Through most of the game, he was running around and dodging pressure. He was able to get off some nice throws and showed both accuracy and arm strength at times. Defensively for Mann, the Lions didn't throw too much beyond 10 yards, but he was able to make hard hits coming down on ball carriers.

2024 RB/OLB Gabriel Winowich - Showed how reliable he is running the ball and had quite a few broken tackles throughout the game.

2022 MLB Caleb Miller - Reads the plays well and is always quick to get to the ball. He was in on some tackles and his heads up play in coverage resulted in an interception.

2022 S/RB Luke Ammori - Reacted well to come down for run support all game. Had a nice PBU that resulted in an interception for his team.

2022 DE Cole Wilhelmi - Transitioned from a WR/S to a DE/TE and looked good through parts of the game on Friday. His natural athletic abilities shined when he could pursue edge plays, where he had 2 TFL's.

2022 OLB/S Max Kunnath - Had several impressive plays bursting upfield and making solo tackles.

2023 RB/OLB Graham Doman - A physical player who had some nice runs and also made some plays on defense.

2023 OT Eric Grenadier - Showed at times some really good stuff and holding his own on at LT.
