Grand Rapids Catholic Central jumped out to a 21-0 first-quarter lead and following a 2nd half in which Andrean scored twice. GRCC rebounded and wound up winning 34-14.

We'll break down top performances from GRCC below:

Grand Rapids Catholic Central:

2022 S/WR Nolan Ziegler - The Notre Dame commit was a monster as usual with 2 receiving touchdowns, a 31-yard pick six, and a forced fumble to stop an Andrean drive. Ziegler had a PBU late in the 3rd quarter, a monster hit in the 1st quarter, and was all over the place.

2022 QB Joey Silveri - Continues to show why he's a tremendous QB prospect. Silveri always is under control and makes great throws and reads. On his 3rd of 4 TD's he threw, he scrambled off balance and threw a 45 yard TD pass to Ziegler open in the back of the endzone.

2023 DE/TE Nathan VanTimmeren - Emerging as the next solid prospect to come out of GRCC. Was a force defensively all game and caught some nice passes and had a short TD catch.

2022 WR/RB/DB Ronin Russell-Dixon - Provided some nice plays on offense, making people miss and showing good speed.

2022 S Luke Kuzner - Had some nice tackles in space and reacts quickly to getting to the ball and making plays.

2022 S/WR John Passinault - Had a big return on special teams and a few catches at WR.

2023 OLB Jack Cook - Surely led the team in tackles this game, from good defensive stops to tackles on kickoffs. He was getting to the ball and making good tackles, several being solo tackles.

2023 DE Ryan Eastland - Had a big game and was constantly causing pressure off the edge. Andrean had no answer for him all game and had a monster sack in the 3rd quarter which all but ended hopes of a comeback.

2022 Slot Devin Fridley-Bell - Had several catches and has stepped up as a reliable target for Silveri. He caught a TD and a 2 point conversion pass.

2022 RB Jack Rellinger - Has filled in nicely for 2021 grad Nick Hollern. Rellinger has provided GRCC with some big runs and some very physical runs to set the tone early for the team. On special teams he had some big returns too.

2022 MLB Jack Klafeta - Has been tremendous filling the role at MLB and has done well controlling the gaps and letting the players around him make the tackles. Very underrated prospect.
