The Fenton Tigers traveled 10 miles down the road in a Flint Metro League matchup with another one of their rivals, Holly, on Friday. Two weeks after the Tigers took down main rival, Linden, 48-13 at home; the Tigers easily handled the Holly Bronchos tonight with a 42-6 win on the road.

Despite a penalty-ridden game on a wet field from earlier rain showers, Quarterback Josh Czarnota racked up 251 total yards for the Tigers. He was efficient on the night only having to pass 12 times with 7 completions for 131 yards and 2 TDs. He also rushed 19 times for 120 yards and a touchdown. His main target, Chanse Setzke, had 4 catches for 70 yards and a touchdown, as well. Both are candidates for the MLIVE player of the Year.

Josh Maher earned the coveted trophy for player of the game after his 85 yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter. He followed that up with receiving TD, hauling in a 24 yard pass from Czarnota with 10:38 to go in the 3rd quarter.

Lance Mercord added 2 rushing touchdowns on the night.

NOTES: With the win, Fenton clinched a playoff spot for the 10th year in a row and moves to 6-0 for the first time since 2014. Fenton has now outscored their opponents 290-81 in 6 games. Fenton has now won 27 league games in a row. Fenton's last league loss was a 14-13 loss on October 25, 2013 to former Flint Metro League member Lapeer West.

Fenton (6-0) will host Flushing (5-1) next week. With a Fenton victory, it would earn at least a share of the Flint Metro League Title for the 7th year in a row - an achievement which would break a 30 year old record by former Flint Metro League member, Oxford.
