Cranbrook pushes past Bishop Foley 60-58; wins divisional opener.

The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes defeated the Madison Heights Bishop Foley Ventures 60-58 in a CHSL action on Tuesday. The win Cranbrook moves to 5-1 on the season, while Bishop Foely falls to 2-3 overall.

Senior forward Jordan Roebuck led the scoring with 15 points, with senior forward Sam Hauxwell adding 13 points. Senior Jack Fairman had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Senior forward Trent Graves and junior center Nick Harnadek both added 14 points for the Ventures.

Bishop Foley jumped out to a 13-11 lead in the first quarter, with Graves leading the charge for the Ventures. Harnadek was a presence in the paint for Bishop Foley, adding two key field goals in the fast start.

Junior center Bryce Hall and Fairman kept the Cranes in the game with low post scoring and a good rebounding effort.

Roebuck caught fire in the second quarter, pouring in three field goals, while Fairman and freshman forward John Kersh made free throws to rally the Cranes.

Cranbrook led 28-21 at the half.

Junior guard Joey Kennedy pushed the envelope for Bishop Foley in the third quarter, with a big 3-point shot. Freshman guard Jackson Zeiter added a 3-pointer of his own, as the Ventures continued to climb back in the game.

The game stood at 42-42 at the end of three quarters.

It would be the Cranes defense to bring home the victory.

Cranbrook junior guard Cam Garner blocked Kennedy’s jumper with the score tied 58-58. The Cranes would get the winning shot from Roebuck on the next possession.

Garner had 4 blocked shots and 2 steals in the Cranes victory.

Cranbrook will face Marine City Cardinal Mooney in a CHSL crossover match up on Friday. The game will be held on the Cardinal Mooney campus located at 618 S. Water Street, Marine City, MI 48039
