Romeo co-coach Jason Couch is leaving one alma-mater for the other as Alma College will name Jason Couch as the programs 30th head coach on Sunday, January 7th, 2018.

Couch was a 1993 Romeo High School graduate who helped lead the Bulldogs in 2015 to the Division 1 State Championship. Couch is also a 1997 Alma College graduate and was one of the finalists for the head coach opening in 2012 that Alma hired former Michigan Center coach and athletic director, Greg Pscodna instead.

Alma College Director of Athletic Steven Rackley commented in a release when Alma fired Pscodna in November, 2017. “I want to find a proven coach that embraces our values as a school, understands how to bring quality student-athletes to Alma College, and someone who can develop the program into one of the elite teams in the MIAA.”

Couch played center and was named first team all-MIAA at Alma in 1996.

Jason Couch and Curt Rienas had an incredible 15-year run as co-coaches at Romeo. During that span Romeo won the Division 1 State Championship in 2015, a Division 1 semi-finalist in 2016, and are currently in a 14-year playoff streak, with 13 of those being a Division 1 playoff team.
