26.

26 straight losses for a program that was one of the best in Northern Michigan in the 90's and 2000's including a State Championship in 1997 saw a community that was once used to being a state playoff team almost every year just looking for a win. Just one.

On Friday October 6th nearly three years since their last victory which came October 10th, 2014 against Standish-Sterling were once again victorious this time over the Tawas Braves 27-14 in the schools first meeting since the Original NEMC conference was still intact in 2009.

Since the schools last played there has been many changes in between that time. After the conference crumbled Tawas went to a conference called The Huron Shores which is also now disbanded which featured Whittemore-Prescott, Oscoda, and Alcona. Ogemaw Heights went to the Big North which features all class A/B schools in northern Michigan.

Ogemaw struggled in pretty much every sport since the arrival to the Big North and Tawas is mainly too big to play in any conference in this area. So both schools looking for games scheduled one for this year which will hopefully lead to more games and a rivalry in the future.

Both schools look to finish the season strong and build towards next year as Ogemaw (1-6) ends the season with Sault Saint Marie and Standish-Sterling. While Tawas (1-5) ends their season with Mio-Ausable and arch-rival Oscoda.
