#5 Muskegon and #6 Mona Shores shutout Week 7 opponents, meet in Week 8 Showdown
#5 Muskegon and #6 Mona Shores both won comfortably for the 7th week in a row. The two local communities are ranked top 10 in the state and Muskegon is #1 ranked in Division 3 and Mona Shores is ranked #2 in Division 2, but it goes much deeper than that.
When Muskegon travels a few miles down the street to Norton Shores, the Sailors and Big Reds will renew a magnificent rivalry that in recent years has grown in importance. In 2015 both teams entered week 8 with 7-0 records and Mona Shores won the game 21-18 and it surely lived up to its hype.
4 weeks later in 2015 Muskegon won in the district championship in a less thrilling game.
Neither Mona Shores or Muskegon had anything to worry about this past week and had running clocks by halftime.
Kickoff between #5 Muskegon and #6 Mona Shores is set for 7 pm at Mona Shores High School.
