Saint Mary's who will not be in the 2017 playoffs held a 3-0 lead at halftime and the Detroit News #3 team in the pre-season was unable to hold onto a lead, as Detroit Catholic Central fought back to win by the score of 20-3.

The 2nd half offensive output by Catholic Central was provided by, 2018 RB/LB Cameron Ryan who willed CC to 20 straight unanswered points with 3 touchdown runs. Ryan is a physically imposing player who wouldn't let an upset minded St. Mary's defense stop him from the end zone in the 2nd half.

2018 LB Isaac Darkangelo has since returned from an injury in the 5th week and shutdown the Eaglets high-powered offense with his superior instincts and solid defensive play.

Catholic Central didn't want to look too far past St. Mary's this week as they'll have a key game vs. De La Salle in week 8 and again in week 9 in the Prep Bowl.
