Division 1 State Championship Overview: Division 1 is the toughest state championship to win and therefore the most difficult just to win 4 straight games to have a chance to play for a Division 1 state championship. West Bloomfield and Clarkston are both OAA Red division rivals and shocked the state by running the table to get to play one another in a rematch from the regular season.

State Finals history:

Clarkston will be making their first state finals appearance since winning the championships in 2013 and 2014.

West Bloomfield on the other hand will be appearing in their first state title game. West Bloomfield won their first district title in school history earlier this year.

Last weeks predictions: 1-1 (28-6 Overall in Division 1)

Breakdown: This crucial rematch between the 2 hottest teams in the state will take place at 1 pm on Saturday and all eyes will be on West Bloomfield and Clarkston. These two teams met in week 4 when Clarkston lost 37-15. Clarkston has since rebounded and have beaten mostly everyone with an exclamation mark. West Bloomfield has remained hot as they've had huge road wins at #6 Waterford Mott, #4 Eisenhower, and a neutral site win vs. #3 Cass Tech in just the past 3 weeks so neither team is showing any signs of cooling down.

Prediction: West Bloomfield 25-21

Explanation: You are borderline crazy if you think 10 weeks ago will translate into this weekends game. West Bloomfield is playing great and Clarkston is playing their best now. These aren't the same two teams who met in a week 4 clinic by the Lakers. West Bloomfield has been strong in getting ahead late in games and making key plays to win.
