Rochester Adams punches semifinals ticket with win over Grand Blanc

The Highlanders defeated Grand Blanc 21-14 Friday night to reach the semifinals for the first time since 2021.

Adams struck first, capping a 78-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown run.The extra point was blocked, but the Highlanders grabbed an early 6-0 lead.

The Highlanders extended their lead in the second quarter on a 15-yard run. After converting a two-point conversion, Adams led 14-0 with 10 minutes left in the second quarter.

With just over five minutes left in the second quarter, Jake Morrow connected with Caseton Sendry for a five-yard score and got within seven points entering the break.

After 10 minutes of tough defense, Morrow punched home a five-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game 14-14 with just two minutes left in the third quarter.

Grand Blanc failed to take advantage of a Rochester Adams fumble midway through the fourth, which gave Adams a chance to score late in the game.

Adams took advantage with an eight-yard touchdown to grab a 21-14 lead with one minute left in the game.

Grand Blanc was unable to score, which allowed Adams to advance to the state semifinals next week.
