The #9 Detroit Catholic Central Shamrocks had absolutely no problem shutting out Brother Rice on Saturday night as they won 21-0. To Brother Rice's credit their defense was outstanding but Sophomore QB Jack Beno was better as he effectively threw for a TD and other key passes, allowing for the running game to have some key runs.

We'll break down their performances below:

Detroit Catholic Central:

2019 OG/OC Kellen Adler is a 6'3 300 lbs lineman with strong D1-FCS interest who was a monster in the interior keeping Brother Rice's strong DL in check.

2020 OT Zach Carey is the Shamrocks LT and looked solid at 6'7 250 lbs, Carey has a high ceiling at the position. His older brother Nick plays at Toledo now.

2019 DT Lucas Hendershot was the Shamrocks top defender on Saturday night as the 6'3 260 lbs Defensive Lineman was a menace that was tackling everyone around the line of scrimmage. Has a D1-FCS offer from Butler.

2021 QB Jack Beno who is 5'10 160 lbs went 13/22 for 164 yards and 1 touchdown. Brother Rice couldn't stop Beno who was shifty in the pocket and got the ball out well with good accuracy and strength. Surprisingly the pass really opened up the run for CC as BRice really had to pay a lot of attention to Beno.

2019 RB Keegan Koehler who is 5'11 180 was bottled up at times but fought for yards and had some nice runs outside the Tackles. Koehler had 26 carries for 134 yards and 2 touchdowns.

2020 LB/RB Brendin Yatooma is a versatile LB prospect who is 5'10 210 lbs, stepped up in the gaps on a few occasions and was also solid with other tackles around the field. Had a nice deflection in coverage that resulted in an interception.

2019 OLB Samih Beydoun is a 5'11 190 lbs OLB who gave Rice fits with how well he moved in both pursue or the ball and in coverage.

2019 DE/TE Mike Harding is a tough as nails 6'5 220 lbs prospect who holds 3 MAC offers. The #73 ranked prospect in the Class of 2019. Did not play due to injury.

Brother Rice:

2019 DE Max Saylor is a 6'3 225 lbs prospect who is committed to Central Michigan. The excellent pass rusher is ranked by The D Zone as the #75 prospect in the Class of 2019. Saylor was one of the most active players on the field as he rotated between DE and DT and broke through CC's Oline on several occasions for TFL's and tackles around the line of scrimmage.

2019 OLB/DE Casmer Johnson who is 6'2 200 lbs along with Saylor made life incredibly difficult for the CC offense at times. Johnson is a nice prospect with good physical attributes and has filled up his frame nicely.

2019 S/WR DaRon Gilbert who is 6'2 205 lbs was very solid in coverage with such a wide frame and ball-hawk traits, Gilbert wasn't really tested too much in coverage. Had some nice run support plays. Holds 6 Division 1-FCS offers.

2019 DL Kane Quinlan is a 6'2 250 lbs versatile defensive lineman who despite playing with a cast was able to cause disruption to CC's offense and forced a fumble at the 1-yard line early in the 2nd quarter.

2020 QB Greg Piscopink is a 6'2 185 lbs junior QB with a quick release and has good arm strength. Lead the Rice huddle well and had several nice reads/throws throughout the game. Stats for him this game are a little deceiving as receivers dropped several wide open passes.

2019 WR Colin Gardner normally has a field day, but was double teamed for much of the game. He still found ways of getting open but didn't get to breakout many big plays.
